We are looking for 2 Female Support Assistants to support a visually impaired lady who is registered blind, access some social and group activities and to support her with shopping.
There are 14 hours (7 hours each) per week to be split over 3-4 mornings/ afternoons, usually weekdays (to be confirmed) from 10.30 am onwards depending on activity. Each Support Assistant will be required to cover holidays and sickness of each other.
These hours are to drive and support the lady to various group activities which will include organising various activities for the blind & hearing group such as crafts, cooking classes and walking. The lady also requires support with her grocery shopping in Filey and light domestic duties in the home.
The ideal candidate must have access to a car, be calm, patient and a dog lover as there is a dog in the household. As the lady is visually impaired, please make allowances that eye contact is not always possible.
The rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.
A DBS is required for this position.
