A Personal Support Assistant is required to work in a village near Filey, on a casual basis to support a young man with autism who lives with his family.
This position might suit a “handy person”, joiner, gardener or an allotment holder with some spare time to enhance the young man’s life.
The young man also enjoys walking, sports, geography and languages
Training in autism can be given.
We are looking for a physically active, kind, patient, clearly spoken, non smoking PA. The applicant must be able to be hands on supporting the young man with his interests and enjoyment of his hobbies and in time, with some of his excursions
The applicant must have competence, knowledge and experience of DIY, general household maintenance, gardening and allotmenteering. These activities may include the use of both cordless and hand tools by the personal assistant (hence the need for competence for health and safety). These hobbies are supported within his care package.
Must have a full driving licence, be able to drive an automatic car.
Current rate of pay £13.00 per hour.
A DBS would be required for this position and is funded.
