A vacancy has arisen for a Personal Assistant to accompany and support a young man (29 years old) at his placement at Jennyruth Workshops, just outside Ripon.
The young man is mildly autistic and is registered severely visually impaired and attends his placement with his guide dog.
The successful applicant will support the young man to participate in various activities, for example in the paint shop, in packaging, woodworking etc. And you will work along side him in other groups to dictate what he needs to type.
The hours at the workshop will be from 10am until 4pm on a Tuesday and Friday.
You must be a dog lover as the young man attends with his guide dog, who also works closely with him.
You must be able to drive as the workshop is located rurally about 3 miles from the centre of Ripon.
Hourly rate will be £13.79 per hour and there is a mileage allowance of 45p per mile.
