A Personal Support Assistant is required for a gentleman who has Young On-Set Dementia for 12 to 18 fairly flexible hours per week to be negotiated at interview level, however, some hours will definitely be on Monday and Friday to allow his wife to go to work.
There will also be an occasional overnight (possibly 1 to 2 per month).
Please note: The hours may increase in the future due to the nature of his condition
- Duties for this role are: supervision at meal times in case of choking
- Safeguarding (he is high risk of falling).
- Meal preparation
- Conversation
- Household chores
- Dog walking
- Accompanying him, taking him shopping/out.
The gentleman enjoys taking one of his five dogs for a walk, therefore someone who likes dogs is essential.
There are times he does not want to chat, so the ideal PA must be sensitive, patient, reliable and understanding.
The rate of pay is £13.25 per daytime and £87.20 per sleepover
A Car driver would be ideal.
