Job Title: Child Support Assistant
Location: Cayton, Scarborough
Salary: From £15.65 per hour
Hours: Minimum 20 hours hours per week
Start date: ASAP
Enhanced DBS is required for this position.
Shifts will include:
Monday: 9 am till 11.30 am
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 6.30 am till 9.30 am
The 9 extra hours are flexible and can be 2 x 4.5 hour shifts either morning or evening for leisure time.
There could be some occasional waking nights hours available.
Duties are to support a 10 year old non-verbal autistic boy, Monday mornings are to change bedding, organise, cleaning etc. The other days are for morning care regime, getting him ready for school and taking him to school. A Driver is essential for this position, ( a car can be provided to take him to school). Extra hours are to entertain him either in or out of the home (cinema, movies, play etc). Initially the hours would be working alongside another support assistant until DBS clearance has been obtained.
Requirements:
- A valid driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience working with children with additional needs ideal but not essential as training will be given
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with the family
- A flexible and positive approach to tasks and challenges
