A Youth Support Worker is required to support and mentor a 15 year old girl who is autistic with a hearing impairment, for up to 12 flexible hours per week.
Driver and have access to a car, hold a full clean UK Driving Licence.
Excellent English Oral Communication.
This is a Part-time Permanent Position.
The young girl wears hearing aids and communicates orally, she does not use British Sign Language at all therefore she requires someone with excellent English oral communication skills.
The young lady has other complex needs, she is a bright individual who is keen to explore the modern world we live in, including going to LGBT groups/festivals, music festivals and watching horror movies at the cinema. The ideal candidate should be a open-minded, diverse, fun and outgoing individual who is able to support and mentor the young girl.
The ideal candidate should have experience with special needs and have is clear English speaking for her to be able to communicate effectively. Experience in mental health would be an advantage
A DBS will be required for this position.
This is a permanent position, the 12 hours are flexible and can be negotiated at interview level, however, initially they may only be a couple of hours per week until a comfortable relationship is developed between both parties. Therefore, someone who lives in the Knaresborough area would be more suitable.
The rate of pay is £13.00 per hour.
