Support Worker – Northallerton – D501

A Support Worker is required to support a teenage girl who has an undiagnosed neurological disorder and associated learning difficulties for 15 + hours per week.

The hours are Monday to Friday and are fairly flexible, although they do require at least 1 hour in the mornings and 1 to 2 hours in the afternoons/early evening, there are more hours available that can be used flexibly.

Job Specification:

Someone who is willing to be consistent and reliable and is willing to learn about the young girl and her ways of communication.

Knowledge of mobility equipment, feeding pumps, hoists etc are advantageous however full training is available.

The young person will need support with personal care, washing, showering and dressing etc and feeding.

You must be able to manage any risk on a daily basis, can offer positive stimulation, sensory experience and be willing to help the young person experience new things.

You must have an enhanced DBS, a full clean driving licence would be advantageous unless you lived local to Northallerton.

Routine hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 8:30 / 3:15 to 5:15 extra hours are available along with days in school holidays and may include occasional weekends.

You are entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday leave per year (pro-rata) but these are encouraged to be taken during the school holidays.
