A Relief Support Worker is required to help a young man with Alstrom Syndrome (blindness, partial deafness and diabetes).
The young man has a great sense of humour and loves “talking football” which is his passion, therefore someone with similar interests would be ideal.
There are 2 brothers with the same condition (see job ref: D316) therefore there is a possibility that extra hours will be available to support either brother. Also, to cover holidays and sickness.
The role includes helping him to live a healthy balanced lifestyle, which includes attending sporting activities such as: Going to the gym, walking, and interacting in the community. The young man also requires support to keep his house in order including domestic chores and meal preparation. He requires no help with his personal care.
A DBS, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the role.
The rate of pay is £11.54 per hour and a mileage allowance is also available.
