A fun, caring Personal Care Assistant is required to join an amazing team who care for a young 49 year old lady ( who refuses to get old!!) She has a large variety of interests including crafts, art, wildlife, gardening and going for long walks with my dog along with other interests in vegetarian cooking, socializing, dining out and shopping. The PA will be required to assist with these interests and all aspects of independent living.
The duties for this position would include: –
All aspects of personal care: washing, skin management (being vigilant for pressure sores), bowel & catheter care, changing dressings, dressing etc.
Household chores include: cooking, cleaning, laundry duties, bed making etc. Also, dog walking and any other tasks that she is unable to do.
The ideal applicant will be experienced with spinal cord injury but not essential or with a keen interest in learning about spinal injury would be helpful. Ongoing relevant yearly training will be provided. The candidate must be fun, honest, reliable, punctual and a dog lover. The PA will be working on a 1:1 basis,
A full, clean driving licence, able to drive a manual van and be confident on all roads including motorways is essential for this position, and preferably lives close by or within easy driving distance.
A DBS and references are required for this position.
Regular hours are: –
Friday: 8pm till 8am Monday live-in (31day hours 30 evening hours) 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. However holiday and sickness cover will be required to cover for other personal care assistants on the team who work through the week and weekends therefore availability and flexibility is essential.
The salary is: £11.15 per hour day rate & £8.73 per hour evening rate (paid 4 weekly) plus 5.6 weeks holiday entitlement.
P.P.E is provided and must be covid aware.
