A Support Worker is required to enable an intelligent, creative lady to pursue and develop her talents in her Art and Musical interests in Scarborough. The lady has a Personality Disorder (mental health), Temporal Lobe Epilepsy as well as other health issues, therefore she requires support to achieve her goals.
The lady has funding from Direct Payments through Social Services to employ a support worker for 14 hours per week, to accompany her and her artwork to galleries, promote and market her work, visit other art galleries, and to access funding/ grants to further her development. She also has an ambition to produce multimedia publications and presentations combining her art, music and poetry, so the support worker would ideally be able to help her prepare and edit her work on an iMac.
The Support Worker must be professional, trustworthy, non-judgemental and have an understanding of her mental & health issues, the lady can sometimes have inappropriate behaviour which is a result of an Epileptic episode.
The Support Worker must be a driver, have a clean driving licence, access to a vehicle, love dogs as the lady has a friendly dog, have a knowledge of the Arts and be familiar with IT websites.
A DBS is essential for this position.
The 14 hours per week are flexible and may require some daytime and evening hours. Some of the hours may be banked to allow for trips to galleries/exhibitions.
The rate of pay is £9.07 per hour with extra for mileage (whilst the lady is in the car), and paid 5.6 weeks’ annual leave per year (pro-rata).
